Description
Grown in the Kayanza region, this washed lot comes from the Businde Washing Station. Coffee is grown in small lots by farmers and they deliver hand-picked cherries to the station, where careful floating, controlled fermentation, and slow drying on raised African beds produces a clean, expressive cup.
This Burundi ends up tasting a lot like a washed Kenyan coffee with desne tart fruit notes and amazing sweetness. We are getting a lot of red fruit: cascara, cherries, and currants. It is a bright and densely sweet cup.
Matsitsi Trading invests in its producer network through above-market cherry prices and long-term quality relationships, ensuring consistent returns for the farming families at the heart of this lot.
